Program Manager in Open Source Outreach and Making & Science for Google
Cat Allman is part of Google’s Open Source and Making & Science Outreach teams. Working with FOSS communities since the 1980’s, she has spoken at events including Rome and New York Maker Faires, LinuxConfAU, FOSS Oman, GoOpen Arctic Forum, SIGCSE, OSCON, USENIX Women in Advanced Computing Summit, keynotes at FOSSASIA 2014 and 2016, and co-chaired the 1st Open Source Track at GHC2010. She is a co-organizer of Science Foo, produced with Nature, O’Reilly Media, Digital Science and creator of Education Foo with O’Reilly Media, Sesame Workshop & Macmillan Learning. She is currently on her 2nd term as a USENIX Board Member, and on the PC for GHC 2018 Open Source Track, and served as a 2016 Jury member for http://www.falling-walls.com/lab/about, and 2017 judge for https://riskinnovation.asu.edu/scienceshowcase2017/
