Community education
From Community Leadership Summit Wiki
Potential new members of communities sometimes express frustration because they don't know how to get started. On both novice and more advanced levels, the educational demands required to advance the work of members can take up a lot of time for busy senior community members.
Topics may include:
- How can you determine the documentation and other educational materials that will best build your community?
- What is the best way to deliver the necessary educational experiences? (Text, mentoring, examples, videos, etc.)
- Are their mentoring opportunities, and how do you make the most of them?
- How do you persuade volunteers to write the necessary documentation? Can you point to supplemental materials outside your main site?
- Could new technologies help?
